The term ‘woke’ is best defined as an intolerant and moralizing ideology. Like its cousin ‘canceled’ the phrase bespeaks ‘political correctness’ gone awry. Though “woke” has its roots in anti-racism, it was mis-used so often that it lost any and all remnants of its original meaning. To be clear, we are very much against racism however the ‘woke’ term no longer is associated with it.

It was the word’s constant mis-use which ultimately caused it to represent all the problematic attempts to redefine society to conform to a very small minority’s understanding of how the world should operate. Those that promote woke culture as an expression of virtue are typically oblivious to the rot they impose on society. Some are even aware of that rot and still choose to promote it.

We need participation from like-minded individuals to make this plan work. Whenever you come across NOT WOKE SHOWS, simply let us know! We’ll review and research the referenced show, and if it fits our criteria, we’ll tell the world about it!

If a submitted show ended up going woke (or if we made a mistake) and it requires modification, open the show and use Oops! Find a mistake? — or send it in.

Make a donation. There are fixed costs that go into keeping this site maintained. Even a small donation helps address these costs. If you want the tools (watchlist, digest, priority submits), that’s membership— separate from a one-time gift.

A member submits it. It sits in the review queue. Ranking a show 0–5 stars counts as a vote that it is not woke. Filing a woke label counts the other way.

Once 5 members have weighed in, the community can settle:

• If 90% did not file a woke label, the community calls it not woke. It still needs a written review before it enters the catalog — good, bad, or merely fine. Quality is not a gate.
• If 10% filed a label and a written reason reaches the omit bar (normally net +5), the community deems it woke. It stays out of the catalog until that rank falls.

Not because an admin stamped it. Members file one of the published criteria plus written evidence. Other members +1 or −1 that argument — once per member, per reason.

The title is deemed woke when at least 10% of members who weighed in filed a label, and a justification is ranked high enough to hold the omit. Search still finds it, with “IS WOKE!” on the title and the evidence on the show page. If that rank falls below the bar, the omit does not hold and the show returns to the review queue.

Clout is the +1s your woke justifications have earned, the +1s on your reviews and comments, plus one point for each meme of yours that is approved. Members whose reasons keep getting backed get a shorter line before a new write-up is listed as official evidence on a show — and, at the higher tiers, a slightly lower omit bar.

Signed-in members can +1 or −1 any review or comment that isn’t theirs. Those +1s add to the writer’s clout, including the house critics. The score sits next to their name.

New justifications sit in “Gathering clout” until they hit your publish bar, so others can still +1 or −1 them. You can see your tier on your account.

Sign in, open the show, and use “Label it: IS WOKE.” Pick a published criterion and write specific evidence — scene, line, or pattern — not a vibe. One of each criterion per member, per title.

Weak labels do not pull a show. The argument has to be ranked by other members. If you were wrong, they will −1 it.

0–5 stars is quality, not a morality score. A two-star not-woke movie can sit in the catalog next to a five-star one. Ranking also counts as your vote that the title is not woke. You get one rank per show. An account is required so it is one member, one vote.

Create an account with email, a username, and a password — or continue with Google or X. The username is how you show up on comments and justifications (3–24 characters, unique). You can change your icon, email, password, and username from your account.

The catalog stays free. Search, show pages, woke labels, comments, news, and memes are not behind a wall. You cannot buy a verdict.

Show pages and news posts have a comment thread. Guests can comment with a captcha; members skip that. Flag a comment if it is a problem — admins review those.

Memes can be uploaded a few at a time. Approved memes carry a small site mark so a share still points here. News is the editorial feed — source, story, and a red Read More when there is a full article.

When JustWatch has the title, the show page embeds where it is streaming. Preview and Get It buttons use the trailer and store links we have on file. Availability changes — treat JustWatch as a pointer, not a promise.

Found a wrong year, plot, or poster? “Oops! Find a mistake?” on the show. Other members can +1 a correction; at net +5 the catalog can take it.
