A Small Light (IS WOKE!)
• the inclusion of the entirely fictional gay brother and the resistance cell in the gay bar is completely fictionalized
• Gays were targeted by the Germans too, but there is no need to add this fictionalized story as it waters-down, what is already a powerful story of sacrifice, risk and bravery.
Summary:
Follows Miep Gies, a twentysomething, who didn't hesitate when her boss, Otto Frank, approached her to hide his family from the Nazis during World War II. For the next two years, Miep, along with her husband Jan and other helpers, diligently watched over the eight souls in hiding in the Secret Annex.
This included Otto Frank, his wife Edith, their daughters Anne and Margot, as well as four others. Miep played a pivotal role in safeguarding Anne's Diary, ensuring its safety until Otto, the sole survivor among the eight, could eventually share it with the world as one of the most profound accounts of the Holocaust.
