Summary:

After her husband leaves her, young mother of two Miriam "Midge" Maisel discovers that she has a talent for stand-up comedy. Could this be her calling?

Set in 1950s Manhattan, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is a 60-minute dramedy that centers on Miriam "Midge" Maisel, a sunny, energetic, sharp Jewish woman who had her life mapped out: go to college, find a husband, have kids, and throw the best Yom Kippur breakfasts in town. Soon enough, she finds herself exactly where she had hoped to be, living happily with her husband and two children on the Upper West Side.

A woman of her time, Midge is a cheerleader wife of a man who dreams of a stand-up comedy career, but her perfect life is upended when her husband suddenly leaves her for another woman. Utterly unprepared, Midge is left with no choice but to reevaluate her life. When she accidentally stumbles onto the stage at a nightclub, she discovers her own comedic skills and decides to use this newfound talent to help her reinvent her life. The series follows the trajectory of Midge's journey as she pursues a career in the male-dominated stand-up comedy profession, and it transforms from uptown society matron to East Village club performer.

John Leguizamo Open to Super Mario2 film Only if It's
By NOT WOKE SHOWS 27 Apr, 2024
Business Insider Reports: John Leguizamo said that he'd "consider" accepting a role in a sequel to "The Super Mario Bros. Movie," but only if the film became more inclusive. Leguizamo, long an advocate for Latin representation in Hollywood, starred in the 1993 "Super Mario Bros." movie as Luigi opposite Bob Hoskins' Mario. The actor has called out the new animated "Super Mario Bros. Movie," which is voiced by Chris Pratt and Charlie Day as Mario and Luigi, for its comparative lack of diversity in the voice acting cast. Leguizamo told IndieWire that if the film became more inclusive in a hypothetical sequel, he wouldn't necessarily be opposed to joining the franchise. "If they start to do the right thing and add more inclusivity, I'd consider it," he said. Leguizamo is currently promoting his new MSNBC series 'Leguizamo Does America," which features the actor traveling from city to city in the United States highlighting Latino stories. He's also currently starring in "The Power" on Prime Video alongside Toni Collette, Toheeb Jimoh, and Auli'i Cravalho.
